Run
Comments: I pushed Anna pretty hard for the first 11 or so miles. Typically, we've been running in the 11/min mile vicinity. I think the fastest long run we've done was in about 10:40/mile. Anna actually pushed me at the start. We were way at the back of the pack, because we were trying to get to the porta potties one last time. I didn't happen, and we wound up having to weave through a lot of traffic. Anna has some burst speed, so she was pushing pretty good the first couple of miles. When we finally got some room to run, we settled in to a pace right around 10/mile. There were 2 guys running in mustard and ketchup outfits, and we were chasing them down. We caught them at mile 6 and ran with them for the next mile or so. Around mile 9, Anna started suggesting I go on and drop her. I held off until somewhere between 11 and 12, and then took off. I passed a lot of people those last few miles, and pushed pretty hard. What would you do differently?: Nothing - this was supposed to be a fun first half, and it was. Post race
Warm down: It was crazy crowded at the end. The line for food was ridiculous. So, we just grabbed our stuff and bailed. What limited your ability to perform faster: Um, I suppose had I run alone, I might have gone faster. I also might have bonked. Event comments: They could really improve this race by doing wave starts, and having a better food situation at the end. They could at least have tubs of water and gatorade. They handed us a bottle of water at the end, but otherwise you had to wait in the killer long line. Last updated: 2008-05-25 12:00 AM

Got up, ate some shredded wheat and drank some water. Waited for Anna. Drove to the start area, walked a few blocks to the start.
Does waiting in line for the porta potties count as a warm up?
