Pre-race routine:

Corn Flakes, banana, coffee, and water.
Event warmup:

None.
Swim
  • 11m 34s
  • 437 yards
  • 02m 38s / 100 yards
Comments:

Swim went okay. I should have done better but I guess the nervousness of my first tri messed up my breathing and I had to breast/side stroke a few times to catch my breath.
What would you do differently?:

Calm myself down and take it nice and easy.
Transition 1
  • 05m 1s
Comments:

There's some distance between the swim exit, transition, and bike mount which explains some of the time. Still I could have transitioned quicker.
What would you do differently?:

Run to/from transitions faster. Practice T1 transitions more.
Bike
  • 20m 43s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 17.98 mile/hr
Comments:

This is my strongest discipline and I loved every minute of it! The course was too short! I did go just a little too hard and ended up paying for it on the run. Other than that, it went great.
What would you do differently?:

Don't push so hard.
Transition 2
  • 03m 38s
Comments:

This transition went better than T1 since I've actually practiced this in brick workouts.
What would you do differently?:

Get faster.
Run
  • 31m 1s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 09m 58s  min/mile
Comments:

I started this run tired from the bike and just did what I could to push it through. I had to walk a few of the hills which was disappointing to me. This was tough!
What would you do differently?:

Do longer brick workouts. Run more, longer!
Post race
Warm down:

Pizza, walking, and gatorade.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Endurance

Event comments:

This was a well organized race. Everything was well marked with lots of volunteers. My only complaint was that the waves started late (mine was 30 minutes late), the post race food ran out early, and the courses were a little crowded due to high number of athletes and short courses.
