Comments: I found a couple of good pacers right off and stayed with them till 2 mile mark where I grabbed some water ( mistake as I did not find another pace partner and was not really that thirsty or hot). I felt good stuggled with pace the last 1.1 mile. CK found me with a few hundred yards to go and motivated me to finish hard. What would you do differently?: I should have not stopped for water, lost pace partners and rhythm. Not much other than more training,I have never been a runner and was happy as I ran ran 1st 2 miles without any walking. Post race
Warm down: I walked a couple of blocks then got a few small cups of gatorade. rested a few minutes, stretched , walked about 3 blocks and jogged about 3 blocks. Woke up at 4:30 am & ate peanut butter/jelly bagel and a banana about 5 am. CK walked to my house then I drove to pick neighbor up.Got to race site, registered and in race tent b4 dowpour of about 30 minutes.
Very little warmup as rain just clearing area. I walked and stretched but very short jog. No enough warmup.
