Comments:

first time on new bike, not much training on bike/spin as compared to previous years only out 4 times on road and three times on new bike.

i did feel good though and was usually in the 22-26mph range with the exception of the hills where i was at about 8-11mph
What would you do differently?:

do more training especially on hills
Transition 2
  • 02m
Comments:

transition went great until the guy next to me came and put his bike on bar/rack and knocked the whole rack down with my bike on it. I was pissed. Took off and forgot my run # belt which had been hanging on rack bar so did not see it when rack fell over and forgot to grab it, only went to end on rack and remembered went back and had to get it off the fsllen rack tried to put on and the belt had come un buckled from the strap connector so had to walk most of the way out of transition trying to get belt re connected.

  • 25m 6s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 04s  min/mile
Comments:

took a hammer gel in transition to run. develped quad cramps in both legs about .5 mile into race. they were not real bad but bad enough that i felt i could not push my pace
What would you do differently?:

something to help keep from cramping
Post race
Warm down:

walking around and ate some pizza and yogurt and had rest of my accelerade (about 5 oz.)

What limited your ability to perform faster:

cramps
