Swim
Comments: Everything I had been learning and practicing seemed to go right out the window. I never felt like I could catch my breath, I swallowed so much water I burped during the entire bike. My position in the water was terrible- i just couldn't seem to straigten my body out and i would gasp everytime my face was in the water- it was kind of cold. What would you do differently?: Everything- most of all I would try to relax and do what i had been taught to do. Transition 1
Comments: I had put my goggles under the swim cap in an attempt not to get them knocked off my head during the swim- except I got the stupid things stuck in my hair when I tried to put on my bike helmet. I took my time in transition and tried to relax after that terrible swim. What would you do differently?: Nothing- i'm OK with this transition. Bike
Comments: I actually felt strong on the bike- very much in control What would you do differently?: I might have pushed a little harder Transition 2
Comments: took my time- moved efficiently What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: Felt a little spent by the time I got to the run What would you do differently?: Maybe I could have gone a little faster if I had pushed harder? Post race
Warm down: Drank 2 of the coconut water drinks- What limited your ability to perform faster: My aeorbic capacity and the sucky swim Event comments: Good race- I'd do it again Last updated: 2008-05-31 12:00 AM

Packed the car the night before except for bike- layed out racing outfit with heart monitor and sneakers ready to go in the morning. Cup of coffee- not very hungry. Ended up having a gel and 1/2 of an energy bar before race.
Little jog out and back- maybe 10 minutes
