Swim
Comments: Pretty good swim for me. But, I had nearly 2 minutes to make up off the leaders... Transition 1
Comments: Longish run from pool. No problems, everything was pretty smooth. What would you do differently?: Nada Bike
Comments: Good ride, especially because I was tired from yesterday's duathlon. My computer didn't work so I had to go with no data! I haven't done that since I started tri's. I love to have my HR, and AVG SPEED to work off (at least). Again starting way back in the pack because of my heat, I didn't have any fast riders to gun for, I just said "on your left" every minute or so and rode hard. There was a pretty good head wind for part of the ride, but nothing compared to yesterday. Still, it wasn't a very fast course and I didn't feel all that strong, but I gave it a good go. What would you do differently?: Check the computer before leaving the transition area! Transition 2
Comments: pretty good transition. I took my time and even went opened my Gatorade so I could get a quick drink before the run. What would you do differently?: Nada Run
Comments: This was a short and fast run course. I ran a 10:20 2 mile split, so no complaints! Not knowing my pace (cuz I am hooked on Garmin) was weird. I just focused on form and leg turnover. I had no idea how fast I was going. I felt tired but I knew it was a short run and I wanted to make the most out of it! I did know that I had a chance to pop into the top 5 if I ran well because my total time off the bike was where it needed to be... I was doing math based on a 12 minute split so I was stoked when I looked at my finish time and run split! What would you do differently?: nothing, this was a good run! Yesterday I ran well too (5:26 pace on my first leg of the du), so I think my fitness is good and my running is coming back off my little marathon injury from may. Post race
Event comments: This is a low key race. It sells out quickly and I got in by getting a little help from Jason (greyhound - 3rd place today!) and a very nice race director... I just wanted to practice transitions and race on tired legs. This was perfect. However, I didn't think I would take the overall win! I admit that I looked at last years results and I was aware of who won it and what his time was so I sort of knew what I would have to do... In fact I beat last years winning time too so that is cool! Last updated: 2008-06-03 12:00 AM

Big weekend... Very intense Duathlon yesterday and when the alarm went off, I nearly rolled over and stayed in bed. When I got out, I felt the fatigue in my legs.
Made a couple of English Muffins and coffee, loaded my car and headed up to Broomfield
Even though this was a pool swim race with lots of heats and I was in 10, I didn't use my extra time to warm-up. I just watched the early swimmers to look for good technique.
