Usual Clif bar, banana and oj for breakfast; Had to get up at 2:50am to drive into city and get to transition area in time get ready and walk the mile to the swim start for my 6:02am swim start

Swim was great with the current to assist and I actually like the point to point course instead of the usual loop. Got one jelly fish sting on the foot, but didn't really bother me. Felt pretty good overall on the swim.

Felt like I was really cooking on the bike. Given the narrow course, the bike seemed to get really crowded at certain points, especially down the home stretch.

Started off good down 72nd street, but my back tightened up once I hit the park and I really struggled through the run with the heat and the hills.

Event comments:

Great race, but the logistical difficulties really were a hassle. I would not do this race again given all the hassle.

Was generally please with my race. Happy about the bike and swim, but disappointed with my run. Overall, though I improved my Oly distance PR by 10 minutes, but failed to achieve my stretch goal of breaking 3 hours.
