Swim
Comments: I know I am slow, but I really don't think I am 3 min/100 meters slow. I swear this course was longer than advertised. I also felt like the turn buoy had drifted out, because it seemed much longer in the water than it looked on shore. In any case, I actually felt more comfortable on this swim than any previous swim, so I give it a thumbs up. Transition 1
Comments: Run up a decent hill from the beach. Most of the bikes around me were gone by the time I got there, not surprisingly. Bike
Comments: Overcooked this a bit, but felt very good. Fastest bike pace to date on the longest course. Passed a lot of people. What would you do differently?: Probably shouldn't have gone that hard, because I paid a bit on the run, but it was fun. Transition 2
Comments: Everything great except forgot my number belt and had to go back for it, probably lost nearly 10 seconds doing that. Run
Comments: Slow and tough. Legs were not responding well after the ride. Sprinted at the end to catch up with the guy that was racked next to me who passed me with 50 yards to go. What would you do differently?: Not bike so hard, more bricks. Post race
Warm down: Right back to car to get back to family for a day of canoeing. Event comments: Highly recommend this race. Something like 1600 racers, but very well organized. Last updated: 2008-06-04 12:00 AM

Had trouble sleeping in the rental cabin. Up very early, powerbar, electrolyte drink. Talked with mndiver a bit (he was there for the half iron).
Biked maybe a mile, jogged a little, swam more than I usually do. Had plenty of time because I got there so early.
