Swim
Comments: Overall a great swim. Bi-lateral breathing and all. Happy to be in the top 10 in the swim, never have been. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 1
Comments: Best T1 I have ever had. used some pointers from the BT transition video and simplified, simplified, simplified!!!! Clipped shoes ionto bike before race, did the rubber band thing, worked great. Body Glided the insides of the bike shoes, great!!! Suit came right off. It was just a great, fast T1! What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: Obviously a good ride. First in AG, third overall. It was a good ride. Obviously my strength. Came off the bike in 1st place in AG, never done that. Very odd getting back to T2 and NOOOOO bikes for racks around me. Wish I had that picture! What would you do differently?: Ride a touch harder. Missed 24MPH avg by .01 MPH and missed 2nd overall by 1 second. Errrr :-) Transition 2
Comments: Back to this simplification. Put number on race belt and tucked it into shorts before swim, so I did not have to mess with that. Wore the Rudy's for the run also, so did not have to change them, got out of shoes before dismount, so that was set... Simply had to rack bike, put on visor, put on Zoot's (no socks, glide on inside of shoes), GO!! Great, great T2! What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: Not a bad run for me, was hoping to break 24. As mentioined, came off bike in first, so as I was passed I was watching my top 5 slip away. Luckily, only got passed by 3 in AG. Very hot and have not done any speed work. I will just never win one of these big sprints until I can run a 20 min 5k, which I just do not think I can do. I was happy with this run, I left nothing on the table and that is all I can ask of myself. What would you do differently?: Nothing! Post race
Warm down: Walked around, got some oranges, some water, some beer... What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing, had a good race. Event comments: I thought it was a good race. Really fun course, nice volunteers, pretty well marked for such a complicated bike (through the parking lots). Some thought the volunteers were a little sparse, but I have seen worse. Would have liked mile markers on the run, that is my only feedback. I was not going to do this race, but am REALLY glad I did. 1 more piece of feedback, wish it was USAT sanctioned. This was my highest overall finishing place (% of total) ever finishing in the top 4% overall and top 10% in AG. Would have liked to see this hit my ranking. Oh well...
