Swim
  • 39m 13s
  • 1640 yards
  • 02m 23s / 100 yards
Comments:

This was my first lake swim where everyone starts together. I panicked at the beginning and then worked through it and was able to swim the course real well.
What would you do differently?:

Get more experience swimming in the lake. Do more sprint distances of lake swims.
Transition 1
  • 03m 38s
Comments:

This race went swim, run, bike. I thought that I was faster in this transition, but guess not.
What would you do differently?:

Get shoelaces that I don't have to tie. Get a tri suit.
Bike
  • 2h 29m 59s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 9.94 mile/hr
Comments:

This was a challenge for me. I rode this with a hybrid/mountain bike. I felt ok the first half of the race, even though I was getting passed up by everyone. The second half of the bike was exhausting, and going uphill took everything out of me. I am glad that I was able to complete this race.
What would you do differently?:

Buy a roadbike and practice long rides with lots of hills.
Transition 2
  • 02m 13s
Comments:

This transition was transitioning from the run to the bike.
What would you do differently?:

Be quicker.
Run
  • 1h 11m 41s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 11m 32s  min/mile
Comments:

I really enjoyed this run. I should have picked up the pace a bit more. I was saving myself for the bike, because I knew that was going to be challenging.
What would you do differently?:

Train on trails. Don't worry about the bike.
Post race
Warm down:

Walk around.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I biked with a hybrid instead of a rode bike.

Event comments:

This race was chip timed and there was a delicious lunch provided afterwards, stuffed chicken breast with black beans and veggies. The race was extremely challenging, but very well organized. Nice scenery too.
