Swim
Comments: Swim was good. 300 meters so I just hammered it out. Passed a few people, didn't get passed by anyone. Completely sprinted the last 50 meters. I hate ducking under the lane lines. Pool water was kinda warm and salty - ew. What would you do differently?: Nothing, really. Too short to strategize - basically, just sprint. Transition 1
Comments: Pretty good - didn't get into my shoes as fast as I would have liked- and kind of a long run from the swim. But overall good - 4th in AG, 35 OA. What would you do differently?: Get tri-shoes. ASAP. Bike
Comments: Clearly, my bike is the weak link. I could have made up some more time earlier on some nice descents had I shifted into the large chain ring. Lost some time on the flattish/inclines. No real "hills" though. Maintained a good race pace and cadence, though. First half of the course was good - second half, feeling less great, but overall, not horrid. What would you do differently?: Get better at using the big gear. Transition 2
Comments: Couldn't find the rack at first - the numbers were facing the wrong way. But got into my sneakers faster this time. And then wasn't sure where the run exit was - my fault for not checking earlier. What would you do differently?: Not miss my rack! Run
Comments: Um, so I ROCKED this run! I dunno - I was feeling really strong getting off the bike, and although the first half was pretty much on a slight incline, I still maintained a good pace and really pulled it out on the way back. I could have hauled even more a$$, but the sidewalk was getting kinda crowded, so hard to navigate people and it was getting HOT. MOst of the water I grabbed went over my head. A PR for me! What would you do differently?: Nothing - push even more, maybe. Post race
Warm down: Ate 2 cookies and drank some water. Waited for Sue and Judi to finish. Then Chipotle tacos - mmmm..Got some more free socks, watched the awards. What limited your ability to perform faster: Just gotta work on that bike... Event comments: What a fun little race! Very well organized, lots of food and although they ran out of soda and non-water drinks, they had plenty of water afterward, and more importantly, on the RUN! And kinda glad I slacked a bit this week so I could run with fresh legs. Last updated: 2008-06-04 12:00 AM

Got up ate 4:30 - ate some mini bagels w/pb and drove to race site. Racked up stuff in transition, stretched, ate a Gu. The usual.
Not much really, my swim time was at 7:46.
