Swim
Comments: the course had to be long. the winner of the whole race swam it in 15:28. The fastest for the whole day was one of the relay teams at 13:05. The fastest women was 16:43. This swim was too good to be that slow. navigation was good. Looking at times, it seems that I was in the top half of the swim times. I have never swam that slow in a race before. Slowest time before that was a 2:16 pace at my first White Lake 3 years ago. What would you do differently?: Who knows. It felt good. It shouldn't have been that slow. Transition 1
Comments: Nothing special. Was real happy with myself for not getting into a funk over the swim time. I just told myself the swim was long and got onto my business of getting on the bike. What would you do differently?: nothing Bike
Comments: great ride for me. Maybe could have gone a bit faster. Kept playing leap frog with two other riders until the last 3 miles when I left them. Did get my feet out of the shoes for the first time at the end. that worked well. I was proud of myself for that. What would you do differently?: nothing Transition 2
Comments: couldn't do anything faster Run
Comments: was really hoping for sub 7 on this. Probably could have started the push earlier. 54 seconds faster and I am third in my age group. Overall, though not bad What would you do differently?: start pushing sooner Post race
Warm down: walked around. used stick on legs. minor stretching (I know, I need to stretch more afterwards) What limited your ability to perform faster: not trusting myself to push a little harder on bike and run. I felt like the swim I went hard the whole time which is why I was dissapointed with the swim. Event comments: two gripes: 1) web site said wicking t shirt, but we got cotton. It has now been changed on the web site. really no big deal. 2) get the swim course measured for the right distance. Looking at my placement overall it looks good. In the age group, its lackluster. Still have a lot of work to do to get the run and bike faster. Can't judge the swim time based upon this race, but in relation to my age group, I was still the slowest, so it can use work as well. Nice local race to compete in. Last updated: 2008-06-07 12:00 AM

Got up and ate breakfast. Got William (my sherpa for the day) up and we drove to the parking area
walking 3/4 mile from parking area to transition area. after setting up area did a short run and bike. Got William to use the stick on the back of my legs to loosen them up. Got a short swim in before the swim start.
