What would you do differently?: Get in the pool during the week perhaps? Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Due to flooding of the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers, the advertised 21 mile bike became 23.5 miles with course re-routing. Yesterday I posted on my blog that they made no adjustment for train stoppages...so of course I got stopped by a train. And while they make no adjustments, I do, so the time posted for the bike is actually my bike computer time, not official race time. which was 1:17:35. For a course that featured FOUR hairpin turnarounds and some stout cross/head winds, I'll take it. Transition 2
Run
Comments: More or less an out and back on park trails and residential streets. I had some issues with side-stitches, but all in all I can't complain too much as I'm just getting back into running again after taking a break after the marathons earlier this year Post race
Event comments: There were some issues on the bike course, volunteers who didn't know the course and which way to point us. Plus not enough racks in transition. Last updated: 2008-06-10 12:00 AM
