Swim
Comments: I think I should start warming up for the swim. My first 200 yds were pretty terrible. We were sighting right into the sun and as I wear glasses and my goggles aren't prescription, I couldn't see the 1st buoy at all. I ended up heading for the 2nd bouy and had to back track to the left to round the first one. After that bouy, I caught my stride and was passing people like crazy. This swim time included a run up the beach, over the hill, and through an asphalt parking lot. What would you do differently?: Warm up before swim. Get lasix. Transition 1
Comments: Good T2. My time was better than average, but not great. I felt bad for my rack mate, Mandy. She got to transition before me, but got stuck in her wetsuit and took an extra minute to get it off. What would you do differently?: Not sure. Run faster? Bike
Comments: This was a great bike! The funny thing is that I had pre-driven the course the night before and drove it wrong. I did part of the 5430 Peak course and ended up adding 5 miles a few big hills. When they directed us off US 36 onto Neva road, it felt like my birthday! I was so stoked, I rode like the wind after that! I felt really strong on this bike and above all I had fun! What would you do differently?: If I had known I didn't have the 2 huge hills coming up, I would have ridden the first part a bit harder. I was pushing it, but I could have hammered it harder. Transition 2
Comments: This was T2 was pretty darn fast. I was up there with the top athletes on this time. I'm really pleased with this. What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: Not my best run. The first mile was abysmal at a whopping 10:00 mile. I had a horrible side cramp and shoulder pain and was trying to push through it. I kept seeing these women in my age group passing me and I couldn't do anything about it. I picked it up at the turn around and must have run those pretty fast to decrease my average to 9:21. What would you do differently?: More bricks? Stretch the shoulders after the bike? Post race
Warm down: food, beer, BT friends What limited your ability to perform faster: No warmup? Event comments: I loved this race and I'll do it every year from now on. It was well run, beautiful, and friendly. I've been scared to race with "the big boys and girls of Boulder" but it was a fun group. It was so nice to have the huge BT contingent there...Ben, Susan, Ted, Ocky, Shannon, Mark, Drew, Dan, Ray, Drew, Melinda, Andria, Rebecca, Julia, Chris, etc...I'm sorry, but I can't remember everyone. We missed Stacie, of course. Last updated: 2008-06-15 12:00 AM
