Pre-race routine:

Up a bit before 4. Ate grape nuts and banana, 1/2 bagel with some pb&j. Cup of tea, FRS drink.
Event warmup:

Ran to/from each bike in/out and run. Stretched.

Comments:

Went out faster and up toward front on the left side for a clockwise swim. Had to breast and then swam without head in water then back to swimming. Some primal fear leaps in here and I have a hard time getting into a swim rhythm. Need more open water swimming and more cowbell. :-)

Felt pretty good. Pushed it some. Could have kicked a bit more at the finish, but my overall pace was much quicker than my usual.
Post race
Warm down:

Drank my big water bottle they gave each of us. Walked around with family. Browsed the booths. I was a little nauseas and had some abdominal cramps afterward. A bit light-headed later in the day.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My swim phobia.

Event comments:

Very well organized. Lots of support. Great pre-race expo on Saturday. Very pro-female. Triathlete women are generally incredibly supportive and friendly.
