Swim
Comments: I felt like I was killing this swim, I had a nice long pull and was passing people left and right. It was an easy swim down the river which I really enjoyed. What would you do differently?: Try to find some feet. Since it was a TT start there were no feet to draft off of. Transition 1
Comments: I think this time includes the run up from the water. Since it started raining while we were swimming, my helmet and shoes were full of water. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: I really didn't have any problem with the rain, luckily there weren't any turns and it wasn't a technical course or things could have been ugly. I didn't feel like I was climbing well either for whatever reason. I was really glad to have my tubular tires and carbon wheels since I saw so many people out there with flats. What would you do differently?: Nothing, I went as hard as I could on the bike without regard for the weather. Transition 2
Comments: In and out in a flash. Run
Comments: This was a really good run for me. I had a friend that started 30 seconds after I did and passed me on the bike so I knew I would have to run him down. Out of T2 one of my other friends shouted out that he was 40 seconds ahead, so I took off and caught him before the 1 Mile mark. The rain wasn't too bad with the exception of the fact that my shoes felt like they weighed 10 lbs each. It was great to hear all the NAMC cowbells coming down that last hill to the finish. You guys ROCK!! What would you do differently?: Nothing, I ran as fast as I could off the bike. Post race
Warm down: Walked around and got some water, talked to one of my athletes that had already finished. What limited your ability to perform faster: I still need to do more speed work to get that 10k time down to around 42-43 minutes off the bike. I also need to be better about reconning the course prior to the race. I wasn't mentally prepared for the grinding hills of the bike course. Event comments: One of the best races I have ever done. Team Magic puts on a great race and I will certainly be back to do this one again. A HUGE Thank You to all the NAMCers that came out to support us and ring some cowbell. Also thanks to the Corns for their pre race hospitality. Last updated: 2008-06-16 12:00 AM

Set up transition, talked with some friends and took the bus to the staging area for the swim.
None, we couldn't get into the water to warm up prior to the race.
