Swim
Comments: Rough start as the gap is narrow. Got caught inside at the first turn marker which became a battle. After second turn marker I veered off course a bit as the next marker was too far away. Finally corrected after about 30-50 yds. Beat last year by well over 5 minutes. What would you do differently?: Get out front and sprint early to stay ahead of the melee. Transition 1
Comments: Best transition time for me to date. Beat l/y by a minute forty. What would you do differently?: Practice more. Bike
Comments: Good bike, surprised I beat last year by only 43 secs. What would you do differently?: Need to work on climbing with the TT bike. That was my only handicap on the bike. Transition 2
Comments: Guy opposite me balanced his helmet on his seat so when I racked my bike his lid fell off and into the lane. I wsted time retrieving it! Another great trans for me. Beat l/y by half the time. What would you do differently?: practice more. Run
Comments: Still getting past by people I dust on the bike. FRUSTRATING AS HELL! But I did beat l/y by 2m9s. What would you do differently?: I need to just log the base miles through the off-season. Post race
Warm down: Food/hydrate and celebrate at the finish with my buddies. What limited your ability to perform faster: Well, I beat all my l/y times so I can't say I was limited. Training is paying off big time. Event comments: Westpoint is an excellent venue with plenty of places for family and friends to watch and cheer. Extremely well organized. Simply a pleasure. UP early, ate a muffin/jelly and banana. Had trouble eating that early. Gear was all ready the day before.
A couple hundred yards of light swim at the venue's lake.
