Swim
Comments: Frustrating swim, because my speed and comfort level was good for me. Rounding the first buoy, for some reason a sighted on the white buoy instead of the yellow at about 50-100 meters from the buoy a sea doo comes up and yells at me that I am going the wrong way. I stopped and looked left and there was the whole race going on about 100 meters left. I swam out to the yellow and rounded the buoy. I'm an idiot. Yes I was swimming all by myself, and yes I thought I was killing it and that's why no one was around. I just get in my own world while swimming and screwed up. I don't know how much time it cost me, but it sucked because I felt good during the swim. What would you do differently?: Work on sighting, drafting, and thinking. Transition 1
Comments: T1 was good, but I had some trouble with my helmet and getting my bike off the rack. Bike
Comments: I like this bike course minus the last little area of rough road and the white mini van with the idiot honking and yelling out his sunroof at every bike as he pasted. The bike leg was my best to date and was a lot of fun. Starting out in the park I was catching my breath and getting my shoes on, once we hit the hwy, I got on it and flew past people. I didn't get pasted the whole ride by anyone that I didn't pass again later. First time that's been the case. Going out I heard bird yell at about mile 5, but didn't see her until see was right by me. I hit the turn around and felt really good and at the hill after the TA I went back and forth with a guy in a mutlicolored speedo. We turned RT at the light and I passed him, about 2 seconds later I see Hogan and get up next to him. I pull ahead, then he pulls up next to me, I legally draft off him for a min, then pull up next to him. We hit the downhill on this road and fly, I bet we hit 45. This would go on for the next 10 miles or so. And eventually Hogan backed off and let me enjoy my new ride. The only issue came at the rough road on about the last 5 miles. When hitting a bump my seat slammed forward and for the last 5 or so I felt like I was riding my sons tricycle. I don't think it cost me that much in bike speed, but I do think it taxed my legs a little for the run. What would you do differently?: Tighten seat up better. Transition 2
Comments: Okay T2, need to work on my procedure in T2 What would you do differently?: Plan out my T2 better. Run
Comments: First mile sucked and I had fluid in my stomach, once I burped I felt a lot better. Saw flowmo and she said "what up" as she pasted, then about 10 secs later I hear her yelling at hogan, and I knew he would catch me soon. He went past me at about 1.5 to 2 miles in and I just didn't have anything left in to hang with him. From then on I just tried to put one foot in front of the other and get to the finish, my legs were tired. Got to the turn around and saw tri z, docshock, and brent, they all looked good. Once I got back to the water station at the park entrance I walked while I drank. Walked again at the station leading into the trail and saw letters/numbers, she looked great and had a great race. From there I felt okay and knew I was not far from the finish so I tried to pick it up, came out to the park an ran hard to the finish. What would you do differently?: Run more, I think I need to drop below 200 lbs and see how the run will feel at about 185-190. Next goal. Post race
Warm down: Found bird and found out about her race. She did great considering 100 fever (unknown until we got in the car). Found hogan and gave him shit/congrats on his race. Milled around and waited for everyone else to come in. Hung with B&K and met their coach from gorilla. We kept trying to leave, but the results were posting and bird got 6th, so we went and picked up her medal, then left. What limited your ability to perform faster: The race is what it is. Event comments: Loved this race and the way dallas athletes puts on their events. Will do it again. Last updated: 2008-06-16 12:00 AM

Got up at 4:45 and loaded the truck. Waited for hogans in driveway and left when they were slow, turned out to be the only slow moment of their day.
Got to the park and traffic was bad so bird and I hurried over to transition and set up quickly. Went down to the beach and swam a few warm ups before and while the sprint went off.
