Swam about 400 yards
Swim
  • 05m 41s
  • 437 yards
  • 01m 18s / 100 yards
Comments:

Swim felt good. Didn't have any contact with other swimmers. Navigation was a problem. Out to the first buoy was fine but either my goggles got foggy or that second buoy was harder to see (fog?). After the second buoy I was into swimmer from the prior heat. Also I had trouble finding where on shore I was supposed to land. Overall it was a fun swim.
What would you do differently?:

Be sure to use anti fog on my goggles. Thinking back I didn't start trying to navigate until after I was confused
Transition 1
  • 01m 37s
Comments:

I am slow at running and taking off my suit at the same time. The lady who set up next to me took lots of space including 1/2 of my space. I used more care moving her stuff off my stuff then she used putting her stuff over my stuff.
What would you do differently?:

Try to get pumped up while in T1 one. Also spend more time thinking about my moves in transition. I've given transition very little practice.
Bike

Comments:

Most fun I've had bike racing. I was going at it with a guy my age. He would get me on the uphill but I would pass him back on the down hill. Also I think he was timid on the curves (as I was the first couple times I road this course). We were racing each other and it was fun. Ultimately he beat me but racing with him was a blast. Glad he was skinny.
What would you do differently?:

Pedal harder
Transition 2
  • 01m 3s
Comments:

Hard to believe I blew so much time here
Run
  • 00m
  • 2.49 miles
  •  min/mile
Comments:

I have one speed running uphill and it aint fast. However my down hill speed is pretty good. Run wasn't that terrible. I did push it and was very tired but the shade and short distance made it better.
What would you do differently?:

Practice running up hills (yuck!)
Post race
Warm down:

Pack up and split for nephews football games

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not so fast running up hills

Event comments:

This sport and the people in it are great.
