Run
Comments: definitely could feel I was running faster than my usual run pace, struggling to maintain my breathing, but overall felt pretty good coming into T1 What would you do differently?: nothing Transition 1
Comments: had a good transition, out of running shoes, helmet on and away i went, got caught up with one guy in my row otherwise great transition. What would you do differently?: nothing Bike
Comments: I really started pushing hard on the bike, but due to the slick conditions had a small excursion on the second corner that involved me slipping on the painted line and riding off road for a bit. (highly not recommended on a tri bike!) So once going again I backed it down a notch for the rest of the bike course to stay upright. Rode within my ability and felt strong coming into T2 What would you do differently?: Truthfully could have gone a couple miles per hour quicker on my road bike, due to better handling and a better ability to ride fast on slick road with that bike. Transition 2
Comments: had a great transition jumped off bike and ran past three people trying to get off there bikes at the entrance to transition. racked and shoed up very quickly. Run
Comments: started this run feeling great, and just settled into a pace I am very comfortable with. Noone was really around me, so I just ran along feeling good. I caught several people, which doesn't happen for me a lot on the run,and was only caught by 2 people from other age groups. Finished strong, I could have ran faster, but didn't really have anyone in my age group close enough to catch so I gave myself a father's day present and just ran it in at my comfy pace. Post race
Warm down: Rode 3 miles very easy, and stretched a bit. drank some gu20. What limited your ability to perform faster: wet rodes hindered my ability to hang it out on the bike like I am used too. I should have been in the top ten on the bike, my runs were faster than I had planned to run, so I felt ok with that. Event comments: good course for a sprint DU, a great course on a dry day. I like this course and it is a well organized race. this year with the CHIP timing made it even better. Last updated: 2008-06-18 12:00 AM
