Swim
Comments: I was one of maybe 3 or 4 women in this wave of relay peeps and "rest of the AG men" - a couple times i got asked if i was given the wrong cap. haha! i always stick to the back even tho i'm going to pass people cos i just don't like getting swum over. i did alright the to the first buoy, maybe went out too fast i dunno. i had all sorts of shit going thru my head. the water was cold, i was getting water in my goggles, i thought i was going too fast/hard, then i was thinking i don't have anymore race to do, then i couldn't see the next buoy, then i was having a hard time catching my breath, then i was doing some breast stroke...i get so frustrated with myself in the swim that i should be doing less futzing around and just swim, but i don't swim in a straight line. i thought my time was gonna be like 35-40 min and i was banking on under 30. i didn't want to disappoint jeff and rich. i got out of the water and saw my time of 28:30 and was quite pleased considering the last time i properly did an ocean swim, i was 16...not bad! ran the whole way on the soft sand to transition - walked about 5 seconds at one point and said "NO! YOU"RE DONE! KEEP RUNNING!" What would you do differently?: tighten my goggles and stop worrying so much about how I 'should' be swimming... Transition 1
Comments: saw jeff at the entrance of T1, didn't know where rich was then i saw him at the end of the rack ready to run. i slapped his hand and off he went. What would you do differently?: know where rich is gonna be and run faster towards him. Bike
Comments: rich's ride - i'll never be this fast... Transition 2
Comments: rich to jeff Run
Post race
Warm down: hanging out in transition talking to other relay peeps. Event comments: Really great, fun race. First time relay for me and first tri for jeff and rich. we had a great time and are looking fwd to doing more of these together. we're dying to see the results cos i think our time overall was 2:15 and may have done 1st in the co-ed relay. rich biked around 1:02 I think and jeff ran in 42 i think or 46.
