Swim
What would you do differently?: Nothing really...For a such distance swim, I wouldn't kill myself. Transition 1
Comments: Took me forever to get my top on... Started cramping out on the inner thights (1st red flag) What would you do differently?: swim with the top or just go bare chest. Bike
Comments: 15 mins into the bike my right calf cramped out... that was it for me, I was lucky I even managed to finish the whole thing. What would you do differently?: Need to figure out how to avoid cramping. Transition 2
Comments: I was in seiour pain after the cramp.... Started running with my helmet still on, fortunately my wife was nearby so I gave it to her. What would you do differently?: Remove my helet Run
Comments: It was painful due to the cramp, so I was just focusing on finishing. I brought a bottle of water with me, good idea since they ran out of water.. and it was getting hot. Post race
Warm down: Strecth a lot to get rid of the pain. DRank plenty of fluids, ate bananas and apples.... What limited your ability to perform faster: CRAMS!!!!! Event comments: They need to have a better organization. Transicion area was a mess with people crossing paths from the swim, run and bike. Not enough volunteers directing on the bike course, which was not easy with multiple turnarounds Last updated: 2008-06-19 12:00 AM
