Swim
Comments: This was by far the worste chop I have swam any distance in. To those who did the race that may not sound like much, but to me this was pretty rough water. There were no white caps, just big rollers coming from the west side of the lake. This was a problem since we swam parallel to them. Plus it made siting much harder. What would you do differently?: More open water swims in choppy water. Just need to keep working at my swim since it is my weakness. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Felt pretty good. Very hilly course. Wind was against us most of the way back. Nutrition was one bottle of Infinit 600cal and three cliff blocks 100cal. Also 1.5 bottles of water (PD aero bottle). Having some problems with left outer knee pain. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Just didn't have it in me. My legs seemed shot. I don't think I have been doing enough run training. On the other hand my legs may have just been spent from the bike and the hills on the trail run. It was rumored the run was shortened a bit? Also, I never saw a mile marker on the run. Nutrition was a 10oz fuel belt bottle with 250cal infinit. I finished 2/3rds of it. I also had two glasses of gatorade on the course. I drank water at almost every aid station. I put ice in my hat at the ice aid station. Post race
Event comments: Need to work on food afterwards. Much of the food was gone by the time many people came in. No mile markers on the run and bike hurt. Last updated: 2008-06-22 12:00 AM
