Swim
Comments: Slow start to stay relaxed. Unable to find someone to draft so just settled into an easy groove. Did a bit of zig zag. Caught my wave about 400 yards out. Good swim for me and conserved energy, a first for me. What would you do differently?: Just more swim training and lessons. Transition 1
Comments: Took my time, not an A race for me so concentrated on technique. Bike
Comments: Nice course. Need to drink more. Could have pushed harder but saved legs for run. A bit crowded but enough room to move. What would you do differently?: Start a little slower, first loop much faster than second. Transition 2
Comments: Took my time. Had to drink some water. What would you do differently?: Practice T2 Run
Comments: Not much in tank but settled into groove, albeit slow. Had some left for kick. Just wanted to finish feeling OK (rare for me). Had guy collapse in front of me and had to stop and help. Luckily he was OK. Lost a minute or 2 there. What would you do differently?: Pushed Harder. Run should have been around 50-52 minutes. Haven't run much recently and it shows. Mentally, this was not an A race since I really wasn't properly trained. My time was the best I thought I could do pre-race. Post race
Warm down: Cold water and walking. Waited for buddy but never saw him finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: That's easy---> Training Swim still biggest limiter. Event comments: Awesome race from every angle. Well run, organized and fun atmosphere. The large group from Team in Training really helps keep everything in perspective. They had a great time and raised a bunch of money. Last updated: 2008-06-23 12:00 AM
