Pre-race routine:

Got up around 5 and were out the door of the hotel by 5:20. Arrived at the course around 5:30 and had plenty of time to set up transition.
Event warmup:

Jumped in the water and swam around for about a half hour before they kicked us all out of the water. Stretched a little
Swim
  • 27m 52s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 42s / 100 yards
Comments:

Water was pretty calm and very clear. I stayed pretty close to the bouys, while the rest of my wave seemed to head out to sea. Not sure why cause the line didn't seem to be much better. Maybe it was....I got into a rythm right away and felt really good. One of my best swims. The swim seems to be coming up as my stong leg of the race.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing except swim faster. Felt good.
Transition 1
  • 02m 52s
Comments:

No toooo bad. Should have been faster. Had a bit of trouble getting out of the wetsuit. Lot of freshly mown grass around so it was sticking to everything.
Bike
  • 1h 19m 23s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 18.78 mile/hr
Transition 2
  • 02m 6s
Comments:

Had to use laces in my shoes as my dog ate the Yankz out of them this past week. Tying the laces took additional time. Should be under 2 minutes.
Run
  • 57m 56s
  • 6.34 miles
  • 09m 08s  min/mile
Comments:

I was ok for the first couple miles but the wheels fell off after mile 3. I just don't have the miles logged in on my training. I just need more training on the run.
Post race
Warm down:

Sat on a bench and ate potato chips. YUM.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

lack of run training miles.

Event comments:

I wish they would have had an additional water stop at the turnaround on the run. There was one aid station without gatorade too, when I really needed it. Other than that it was a great race and very well run.

Course: I like the overall course. There was rolling hills and one part with rolling hills going downhill reminded me of being on a roller coaster. I felt good on the bike and the slight wind was a challenge. I could have pushed harder but I wanted to have some fuel in the tank for the run.
