Swim
  • 38m 16s
  • 2000 meters
  • 01m 55s / 100 meters
Comments:

Busy swim, think 200 people started the race. Was always busy in the water, always trying to get around people, thinking I would go faster. Should have just stayed behind one. Had a horrible time sighting until the end. Have to site every 6 or 8 strokes. Did that near the end and had no problem. Wet suit stripping was cool, had me out of it in 2 secs.
Transition 1
  • 06m
Comments:

had a total of 10 minutes in transition. Went at a good speed here, relaxed though. Put on sunscreen, put on shirt inside out, took off put on again.

Bike
  • 3h 22m
  • 96 kms
  • 28.51 km/hr
Comments:

Ate on the bike for the first time. Cut up 2 stinger bars, had them within the first 3/5s of race. Grabbedo some stinger gels and had those the last 28 km or so. Lots of Gaterade. Passed by a couple of people. Need to be smaller so that i can go faster.
What would you do differently?:

Bring more bars
Transition 2
  • 04m
Comments:

pretty quick
Run
  • 2h 55m 48s
  • 21 kms
  • 08m 22s  min/km
Comments:

Felt bad starting the run. Stomache sloshing around. Still drank at each aid station, so hot had to. Ran 4 minutes walked 1 minute. Second lap started way better, felt strong, ran for 12 minutes then ran for 8 then was out of gas, but stomach was better.
What would you do differently?:

I need to train the run, clearly.
Post race
Warm down:

6 glasses of gaterade, an apple, some water. Went home, 3 scoops of protein powder, had a nap. Went to a potluck that night, ate a ton. Was sore but not too bad. Went on a hike and to karate on Sunday.

Event comments:

Awesome race, would recommend it to anyone. Great volunteers. Ice and banana's also on aid stations on the run. A great time.
