Swim
Comments: Swim, water was calm, I was calm, felt reallly great on the swim, stayed calm and persistant, could have gone faster, barely kicked! First time with the wet suit, rubbed my neck a little raw, need more body glide, push harder! and just continue to enjoy... Mantra - Swim is a strength, your doing great! Navigation was pretty good, only caught my self swimming extra on one bouy! great work! Stayed in Crawl the entire time.. What would you do differently?: Push a little harder on the swim, kick harder. Transition 1
Comments: Felt pretty good, made things complicated that I had to shove things into my bag and double check that I wasn't forgetting anything in T1... Definitly was okay.. not great, not any worse than previous T's did take time to wash feet and put on dry socks, probably didn't need to.. skip next time What would you do differently?: Skip socks, wash feet, don't dry. Comments: I didn't probably drink enough on the bike... should have drank more! Maybe get an aero bar bottle, was pushing on the flat, felt great till I hit headwind, my left knee really started to act up on that, had to back off, really had to push to get thru that flat, there were times I wanted to stop because of it.. proud of pushing thru! Get knee checked out!!! Felt find once out of headwind, could have pushed harder if knee felt better, was never out of breath What would you do differently?: Push harder! It's a race not an enjoyment ride :) I enjoyed the ride a little to much but its okay, as knee was acting up... ecourage others more. Transition 2
Comments: Could have taken my helmet off sooner, wasn't really thinking, walked mostly thru transition, and took my time, It's okay! Needed to take more water in on the bike!! What would you do differently?: Wish I didn't have to put my shoes in place the night before, made it harder to get to, and made me more nervous about them getting wet! Run
Comments: there weren't enough water stations, like they said there would be, I planned my water around stations that didn't exist, had to walk more than I would have liked too.. What would you do differently?: wear my hydration belt, no ifs! do it!!! take in water every mile and get cool! water over head, no ifs! same for sprint.. Post race
Warm down: none, was in medical tent.. Got overheated had to get cooled down, and iced knee, but was okay! What limited your ability to perform faster: myself, mentally, didnt push as hard as i coudl, and got overheated on the run.. got to keep coooler. Event comments: Good race, needs more drink stations, good staffing otherwise, good encouragment, and fun racers to race with.. would do it again! Last updated: 2008-06-23 12:00 AM
