Swim
Comments: The swim was probably the part I was most nervous about. I wanted to see 1 wave go, and then got in the 2nd wave. I stayed at the front of my wave throughout the swim. I was really happy with my time. It was fast for me. What would you do differently?: I'm not sure wether my wetsuit helped or hindered. My next investment will be a tri-specific wetsuit. Transition 1
Comments: I was very happy with T1 especially since it was my first time. What would you do differently?: Run faster out of transition. Bike
Comments: The bike course was nice. There were lots of supporters cheering along the way. The course was well marked with volunteers at all the intersections directing traffic. Thanks a ton!! I was happy with my bike split. I could have gone harder, but was unfamiliar with the course and wanted to save some for the hills. I was sure glad for the 11-26 cassette that I put on my bike this week. What would you do differently?: Go harder. Transition 2
Comments: I am bummed about my T2 time. I got a bit confused coming back into transition and it took me 20 secs. or so to find my rack. Transition looks much different when there are no bikes on the racks. What would you do differently?: Pay more attention to my rack. Maybe mark my spot with a balloon or something. Run
Comments: I wasn't sure what kind of pace I was running. I just went with what felt right. My legs were totally fine from the beginning of the run. I thought it was a good run. What would you do differently?: Run faster Post race
Warm down: I met up with my family and we cheered on other finishers for another hour. I drank a bunch of water and ate a sandwich. Also had some watermelon and a banana. Event comments: This race was awesome!! I highly recommend it to anyone. Last updated: 2008-06-24 12:00 AM

We had a super busy day. My son's last t-ball game (I coach) was at 9:30. Luckily this race didn't start until 1:00. My nerves were going crazy and I was only able to eat 1/2 of a PB and J @ 11:30. We got to the race site plenty early. Once we got there and I got set up, my nerves calmed down and the excitement kicked in.
I jogged for a bit to get the blood flowing. I got in the water for a few minutes right before the pre-race meeting to get used to the temperature. I downed a gel about 15 minutes before the start of the race.
