Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4:15, drank a cup of coffee ate a toasted P & J, BS'd with my wife and left for the event around 4:50. Got there around 6am, got to transition about 6:30am, had plenty of time to relax and get my stuff together. I checked out the Pro's bikes. WOW!
Event warmup:

Small swim and walked around alot.
Swim
  • 30m 18s
  • 1931 meters
  • 01m 34s / 100 meters
Comments:

BEST SWIM TO DATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I could not believe my watch when it said 30 minutes. I just felt so relaxed during the entire swim, it was great. I really think I could have pushed harder (good thing I didn't). When I first started doing tri's the swim terrified me, now I am loving them.
What would you do differently?:

NOTHING
Transition 1
  • 03m 34s
Comments:

Could have done this a little faster but, damn Transition was HUGE, plus, I really wanted enjoy the moment.
What would you do differently?:

Not sure
Bike
  • 2h 53m 33s
  • 56 miles
  • 19.36 mile/hr
Comments:

Rode to hard. I was planning to ride at 18:30 mph, didn't happen. The ride was fun. There were people constantly, you always had to be aware of your surroundings, plus the hill at the end was a MOTHER.
What would you do differently?:

Lower gear sitting ang higher cadence.
Transition 2
  • 04m 59s
Comments:

afraid of cramping during T2, took my time and made sure my socks and shoes were on correctly.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe do it a little faster
Run
  • 2h 42m
  • 13.1 miles
  • 12m 22s  min/mile
Comments:

Died, bonked, cramped, sucked, DOA, I had 13.1 miles for my body to tell me that I went to hard on the bike, and it expressed itself. My first lap I managed to run/walk, lap two I was Walking/running. I ended running though the finish line!
What would you do differently?:

Train better on the run, work on longer bricks.
Post race
Warm down:

walked around with my wife and friends, ate, took a long hot bath.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough long steady runs and long bricks

Event comments:

Great Race, it started 15 minutes late because of the parking, but I thought that was fine.
