Comments: For some reason, the first few miles were really tough. Not in good enough shape. Should be riding more. Also, once I put my arm out in front of me, it took a lot of strain off my legs. I really, really need aerobars. What would you do differently?: Ride more. Get aerobars. Transition 2
Comments: Good transition, but too slow. I was really tired. What would you do differently?: Get in better shape so I'm not so tired at transition. Run
Comments: The run felt faster than the results say. There were a lot of problems with the results in this race b/c one of the mats malfunctioned. I think it was closer to an 8:45 pace than a 9:10 pace. Even still, it needs to be faster. Also sprained my ankle on the second mile, but it wasn't too bad - I was able to keep going and didn't feel much pain until it was over. Post race
Warm down: Water and beer What limited your ability to perform faster: Dehydrated - was very constipated the night before, so I took an overnight laxitive. Big mistake. It completely dehydrated me and kept me up all night so I didn't get good sleep. Event comments: Great race - not as fast as I wanted, but still great finish - won my age group - had a blast.
