Swim
Comments: Well I was dreading this a bit after my first outing but it wasn't so bad. Was it? Mmmmm. I started at the back and immediately found the suit restricted my breathing.Much better than the last suit though. There was a newbie at the back and she had o good guys with her so I told them Id swim with her and they could get on. I was chickening out a little but I breast stroked most of it.. once again. We came out 3rd and 4th last. However I was quite pleased with this. I found after 10 mins I kinda got used to the water and when I did front crawl it felt good and I floated nicely. I am kind of looking forward to the next Loch swim actually! What would you do differently?: I need to become friends with swimming. This I will do. I need to practice in the open water with the suit on and when I have done this I should be able to do the 750 in about 20 mins I think. I'd be real happy with that. Next season I am going to fit in open water training for definate. Also I really need to swim straight! No sense of direction in the water. Again practice should help this. Transition 1
What would you do differently?: It was okay really, at my speed saving a few secs jumping on the bike won't help too much. Bike
Comments: This felt like a ood ride. Road surface was rough in some bits and there was a head wind of about 15mph on some parts. I did 10 mins then took average HR over the next 20 as a LT teat av HR was 153. What would you do differently?: Train smarter. I'm going to train with power shortly. Transition 2
What would you do differently?: Take a water bottle out on the run with me. Run
Comments: Felt wobbly to start. Toes felt numb to! Strange sensation. Maybe bike shoes too tight. Started of well and slowed in the last 2k. Not sure of times yet and I didn't hit the lap button on the Polar when I came off the bike... However! I was aiming for 120 mins and I spent longer in the water than I could have so when I came to transition I had about 40 odd mins for the run I thought. So to come in 10 mins under Is outstanding for me. Can't wait to get the oficial times. I was really pleased with the out come. What would you do differently?: Trian harder and smarter. Loose weight. Take a bottle on the run with me. Post race
