Pre-race routine:

Woke up before DAWN. I hate having to drive for races! Took the dogs for a walk and let them hang out for a bit while I ate breakfast. Ate a bagel and drank some milk!

I went for a little walk. No jogging for me, thanks!

What would you do differently?:

Uh...nothing, I guess. Maybe not run 5.5 miles the day before a race. But I just have to remember I'm training THROUGH this race, not FOR it.

I didn't keep track of my transition times. I'm guessing it was less than a minute though. My transition times are included with my bike time.

Going out I averaged about 19 mph, coming back in against the wind I was crawling at 12-13 mph. Heading out on the bike I got up to +7 points, coming back I was -2! Got passed by two mountain bikes, how embarrassing! I suck at biking compared to other people, but compared to myself I think I kept a pretty rockin pace.
What would you do differently?:

Pray for God to not let it be windy?

Blistering finish! Finished the race at +5 points. I was passing people like crazy on the run. I felt really good but was definitely glad it was over with. :)

Warm down:

Walked around, ate pizza, and drank a Jones Soda. It was yummy.

Event comments:

I won my age group! So sweet! I got 3rd in my a/g last year by default...as in, there were only 3 people in my age group. And they all beat me by like 10 minutes.

Also, I won a really sweet baby blue Harley Davidson hoodie, and Brian got a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch bars. Woot!

Now I have to go run 6 or 7 more miles. :(
