Wake up and drive to race. Drank about 15 ounces of HEED and 1.5 oz of Hammer gel about 25 minutes before race.
Event warmup:

Ran a few 50 yard strides. Felt pretty good. No shin pain.

Warm down:

Grab a water and hug the kids. About 30 minutes after, when I was in the car, I started getting the lower intestinal cramping that I've been getting after hard (not long) efforts. I wonder if I need to bring up the intensity of my training to train my body to deal with this. I don't like it.

Event comments:

Good race. I heard that the number of entrants had doubled since last year, and lines were long for food and toilets after the race. Good sponsors and food too, so if they get that straightened out, it will be a 5 star race.
