Run
Comments: Might have tapered too much due to knee pain. difficult to start out - twinges in the knee around mile 5 - ran through it and was great. The amount of spectators and runners was overwelming. i ran into an annoying spectator at one point. China town...little Mexico....Boys town....amazing - funny, entertaining. Got quite steamy at the end.... joe was hilarious supporter..chased me down to apply sunscreen and got a chocolate shake for me at the finish! very cute.. What would you do differently?: build a more solid base to prevent knee pain...more stretching....worn something eye-catching so family/friends could spot me. do smaller race...participant wise. Post race
Warm down: wobbly legs at the end...walked....iced knee...almost fell asleep on the L. What limited your ability to perform faster: People and garbage clogging the water stops...slippery from discarded gels. lack of base...knee pain. Event comments: sooooo many people! fun to run in - but not to get around. proud i did the distance...lucky i have supportive kids, husband, family, friends. Last updated: 2008-07-08 12:00 AM
