Swim
Comments: I swam a lot further than I had too. I didn't wear my tinted goggles so on the way back in all I saw was the glare of the sun on the water. The second loop I made a new strategy and made sure I had people on either side of me, that way I knew for sure I was on track. What would you do differently?: Wear tinted goggles. Transition 1
Comments: I had a good transition. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Bike
Comments: The bike was extremely hilly but I seemed to do well for the most part. Felt I held back a little as I wasn't sure how much I had to save for the run. What would you do differently?: More hill training. Transition 2
Comments: Had a quick transition, didn't forget anything! What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: The run course was rather confusing through the park. At one point another runner was asking which way we go! It was extremly hot at this point. Walked through all aid stations and splashed water over my head. Also a very hilly course but still did all right. Didn't hurt just couldn't make my legs go faster. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, went under the mister. Grabbed some food although I pawned the cheese pizza off on my friends. Who wants a cheese pizza after six hours of exercise! What limited your ability to perform faster: The heat of the day. Lack of hill training on the bike. Event comments: Overall great race for my first half ironman. Last updated: 2008-07-10 12:00 AM

Woke up had my multigrain cheerios with yogurt and blueberries and a banana on the side. Chocolaite chip muffin from timmies for a treat. Left the hotel at 6 am and got front row parking. Set up transition and warmed up. Hung out by the lake before the race started.
Short ride/bike/swim.
