Overall Rank = 324/388
Age Group = 20-24
Age Group Rank = 8/9
Pre-race routine:

Woke up, got dressed and headed to event. Ate a bagel w/ peanut butter and a bottle of water. Had a gel about 15 mins before my swim.
Event warmup:

Did light stretching twice to try and stay loose because I had a late start time. Got in the pool about 5 mins before my swim to get accustomed to the water.
Swim
  • 07m 55s
  • 328 yards
  • 02m 25s / 100 yards
Comments:

Swim was my best time i've ever swam. Pool was a little crowded. Passing was hard to do as you had to go into the center of the lane. One one pass I narrowly avoided a head on collision
What would you do differently?:

prolly trained for more
Transition 1
  • 02m 56s
Comments:

Never practiced transitions, so it wasn't that good. I used same running shoes to ride bike. Took me a while to put on shirt.
What would you do differently?:

Practiced transitions
Bike
  • 48m 1s
  • 12 miles
  • 14.99 mile/hr
Comments:

Bike went smooth. I never biked 12 miles straight before the race. Legs got a little tired on the back stretch, but once I saw the final turn I picked it up some.
What would you do differently?:

Trained more
Transition 2
  • 01m 55s
Comments:

Should have been faster since I had everything on already. Had to re position sock, so that took some time. Took awhile as I was trying to catch my breath
What would you do differently?:

Practiced before the race.
Run
  • 30m 50s
  • 3 miles
  • 10m 17s  min/mile
Comments:

Run was decent considering I never ran 3 miles straight while training. Pace was slower than I usually run. I practiced bricks before, but small bricks. Stopped twice along race to get water
What would you do differently?:

Should have practiced longer bricks. Shouldn't have stopped for water or shoulda made those walking moments shorter.
Post race
Warm down:

Walk and catch my breathe, then get water

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not practicing enough

Event comments:

Good first time race. Good and helpful volunteers and crowd support, but it was quiet towards the end. Food was pizza, and they ended up running out. All in all, it was a great race. One i'll prolly do again
