The course seemed shorter than last year maybe by 1/2 mile. I was 2 minutes faster this year but felt like I rode faster last year. A least my HR showed it.

I am 25 pounds heavier last year so if I can get back down to 205 I think I could repeat the 8:30 pace I did in 2007. At least I didn't cramp up like Racine.
What would you do differently?:

lose weight and get into shape. About mile 3 I burped up the margarita I had the night before. Not pleasant.

Course: The swim seemed longer than last year and the my time was 5 mins more. I think I am a better swimmer this year as well. There was sun but I used mirrored googles and it did not impact my sighting.

I was able to average 150 for the bike versus last year going at 160.

Course: Tougher course this year doing the sprint course twice. Going East was directly into the wind and it got tough.

I started the race off good at a 155 HR versus last year with a 160 HR. I kept stepping it up until I got to 160 at about mile 3 then is got really hot. My HR spiked over 165 and I had to walk through the water stops to get it down or I wasn't going to finish well.
Course: flat but lots of sun/no shade especially hot when running with the wind.
