Swim
Comments: Ran out a bit for the swim for the group and took longer to get into the water to start swimming than people around me. Felt like I was going to jump on top of someone. Not much bumping when I started swimming. They had orange bouys for navigating and yellow bouys were the ones to go around. On the way out people were taking a good line to the yellow bouy but on the way in many of the people in front of me were swimming to the orange bouy which took you out of the way to the swim exit. I tried to key in on a bright orange bouy off the dock and this worked out good. Happy with the swim. Breathing was good. What would you do differently?: Try to swim faster! Transition 1
Comments: Bike was right next to bike out so this worked out great. Had sunglasses in helmet and put them on after helmet and they were fogged up I think due to the humidity. As I was running out of the transition area I threw them back at my stuff. Luckily they landed on my towel. Turned out I didn't need them. What would you do differently?: Keep glasses with me and not toss them. Bike
Comments: Need to push it more on the hills. Legs were feeling it a bit from 60 mile yesterday. Was a bit afraid if I pushed to hard legs would be fried for run. Should have tried to crank it more on bike. What would you do differently?: Push it harder. Transition 2
Comments: Shoes off good. When I went to put on my running shoes my left one went on smooth and I was able to pull my speed lace but my right shoe I couldn't pull the lace so I ran with it a bit loose. It wasn't that big of a deal but I need to get a new type of fastner for my laces. I've had this same issue in two races. Run
Comments: Felt good on the run. Made up some ground on folks. Took water at the first two or three aid stations and skipped the last couple. Several people had hoses out so it felt good to run under them. By this point the sun was shining pretty good and it was probably in the low 80's. Tried kicking down a guy but waited to long. He heard me coming and took off! Good thing he wasn't in my age group. Post race
Warm down: Played with Rory in the lake! Event comments: Liked the race. Wish they had the packet pick up the day before like last year. Spent about tweny minutes in line to get stuff. Not that big of a deal though. Overall great race, great volunteers, good food after. Loved the hot dog and baked beans. Last updated: 2008-07-13 12:00 AM

Stopped at BP on drive to race and grabbed a NutriGrain bar. Drank some Gatorade as well as water.
Hopped in water about ten minutes before start and swam a bit. Water felt nice. Overcast, muggy day, damp but wasn't raining. Sun came out mid way on the bike.
