Swim
Comments: Totally need more sighting practice or something. I was grabbed by a lifeguard because I was swimming off course. I probably swam 100-200 extra meters than everyone else. Worked on my drafting due to my lack of sighting abilities. What would you do differently?: Practice sighting and study course better. Transition 1
Comments: The T1 was close to a 1/4 mile run from the beach to the bike. I thought it would be more effective to remove my wetsuit on the beach so that I could run faster. It didn't really seem to help so I don't think I'll do it again, plus it got sand all over the place. Bike
Comments: I was actually going to take it easy on the bike because my run usually gets slow if I push the bike to hard. The bike course just felt so fast that I decided to change my plan and see what I could do. It paid off because my run was a bit faster than my 1st OLY. What would you do differently?: Try and go faster. Drink more Transition 2
Comments: I actually cramped once I stepped off my bike and could barely put my right foot down due to my calve turning into a rock. Once I straightend it out I was good to go but I still can't figure out why I cramp up so much during races and not during training. What would you do differently?: This is a PB for me but I still feel like I could have biked faster. Run
Comments: I started off really well but then started worrying about bonking so I slowed the pace a bit. I seem to do bricks well in training but can never convert that to races. I definitely like the 2 lap course as opposed to the out and back. I like conserving the 1st lap and then pushing it during the 2nd lap. What would you do differently?: I think I would try and push the last 4 miles harder. I know I can run faster but for some reason I'm pooped out after the bike more than I should be. Post race
Warm down: Chatting with others and drinking water. What limited your ability to perform faster: Cramping has definitely been my biggest problem and I even cramped up in the water this time. It seems to be in my calves all the time. Event comments: This is a great PR race site. If you train a bit on hills with your bike you will definitely get a great OLY time. I had a blast and look forward to doing it again next year. Last updated: 2008-07-14 12:00 AM

Not my usual pre-race routine. I was in Minneapolis from Wednesday - Saturday morning. I arrived at LAX at 12:42 am then arrived home at 2:30 am. I got a about 4 hours total of sleep and almost didn't even go but I wanted the t-shirt I paid for haha.
Missed any actual warm up due to arrive late.
