Pre-race routine:

Alarm off at 4:45...ate my standard egg sandwich and fruit/protein smoothie. Headed out and got to the transition area about 6:15. Bike was already checked in so there was no jockying for position.
Event warmup:

Stretched/ sat around/ stretched/ sat around/ repeat......
I was in the last wave and had 1+ hour wait after transition closed.
Swim
  • 14m 4s
  • 700 meters
  • 02m 01s / 100 meters
Comments:

This was my best swim yet....got boxed in for a while but used the opportunity to draft for a while (never did this succesfully) then made a break for it around the first buoy.
What would you do differently?:

nothing...I missed by goal by 4 seconds but it was still a PB by 6 minutes.
Transition 1
  • 04m 3s
Comments:

LONG T1 run from water and then I was the farthest point from the bike exit so it made for a long run with the bike. Everything went good though
Bike
  • 56m 37s
  • 16.75 miles
  • 17.75 mile/hr
Comments:

Time to get the new bike....just kept thinking about how much faster I would be on one of the bikes I have been testing....still another personal best by MPH average.
What would you do differently?:

buy new bike sooner...mine is a CHEAP starter
Transition 2
  • 02m 22s
Comments:

Forgot race number and had to turn back but it only cost me about 10 seconds
What would you do differently?:

race bib in hat
Run
  • 34m 3s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 10m 59s  min/mile
Comments:

running is still my "weakest" aspect and I was diagnosed with ITB syndrome the day before BUT I still had my best time yet by 3 minutes.
What would you do differently?:

just keep runnin
Post race
Warm down:

water, fruit, water, fruit, beer

What limited your ability to perform faster:

ITB hurt on the run...but I am still VERY pleased overall

Event comments:

LOVED the cold sponges at the run water stations...definately helped with thye heat
