Pre-race routine:

Got up around 5 and headed to the park. Did a warm up run of about half a mile then stretched out. Did a few walk troughs and was ready to go.
Swim
  • 00m
  • 440 yards
  • / 100 yards
Comments:

We started on the beach in 4 waves, at 2 minutes apart. I was interested to see how it was going to work since we were going to be coming in at the same place everyone was starting from. Since I didn't run into anyone and I was in the first wave I think it worked out just fine. That will teach me to think during a race.
What would you do differently?:

Swim harder & faster...
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

I missed the second shoe so it hit the ground and I just about lost it...oh boy was that awesome! After swaying around for a second I finally got into the shoes and off down the road. Not one of the better ones.
What would you do differently?:

Practice more and wish on my rabbits foot before the race...
Bike
  • 00m
  • 12 miles
  • 0.00 mile/hr
Comments:

This was a good course with hills and flats. The hills were long and steep but you were also given enough of a flat/down hill to make up for any time lost on the hills.
What would you do differently?:

Work the hills better and hammer down the flats a little more.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

This made made up for the T1 screw up
What would you do differently?:

Nothing...do it faster.
Run
  • 00m
  • 3.4 miles
  •  min/mile
Comments:

I thought I read that this was a flat run...apparently I can't read b/c it was a trip through the mountains. The soul crusher was the last 8/10 of a mile when I rounded a corner and was looking across the lake at the cliff I was about to run up. At the top of that fun run was a flat for 150 yards then a 150 up hill into the finish. At least they made you earn the finish so no worries.
What would you do differently?:

Work more on the bricks and a faster race pace.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around and then jogged around the track for a minute or two.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

It was MUGGY as all get out and I need to work on bricks more.

Event comments:

Good race. I only wish that the mileage had been marked. I didn't have the computer on my bike so I didn't have any idea where I was in the bike or on the run. The first mile was marked but not the others. Small grips but overall I enjoyed the race.
