Swim
Comments: The start was weird. There was a siren and then we had to jump in about 10 abreast and just take off and swim. If the person in front of you didn't swim off right away, you were stuck with the clock ticking and couldn't jump in. But swim was good given I have not been in the pool at all. What would you do differently?: Same as always - train! Transition 1
Comments: Must have been OK. I had the fastest transition time in my age group. Bike
Comments: This was a hard course for someone who has not trained on the bike. I was probably lucky to go as fast as I did. I just didn't have the power to pop over some of the larger rollers. Transition 2
Comments: Felt a little slow. Couldn't get feet in shoes very easily. Run
Comments: I actually thought I was running OK so I am a bit surprised at my time. Oh well. Post race
Warm down: Food :) What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training and the fact that I am 7 weeks pregnant. I am only running at the moment so I am not swim or bike fit. But if you look at my ranks, I was higher in the swim and bike than on the run! So, despite the heavy training for the run, I still suck at it! Event comments: Great race. It was a first-time race and they did a terrific job. Challenging course. I cannot wait to train for it again and next time I hope to get some biking in before the race. None. Quick spin to see if chain was on properly (changed wheels out before race and altered brakes).
