Swim
Comments: I felt great for the entire swim - I thought I would be between 40-45 min in the water, so 36 and change was excellent. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 1
Comments: I was taking my time - I was happy to finish the swim so well, and just wanted to make sure I had what i needed to get out on the bike course. What would you do differently?: I would probably swim with my jersey on next time, and also have my food attached to my bike. Bike
Comments: I don't think I took in enough food/gu while on the ride - the last 10 miles or so, my legs just felt like there wasn't anything left in the tank. What would you do differently?: I would get a better nutrition plan in place and make sure I stuck with it on the bike. Transition 2
Comments: Again, I wasn't in a huge hurry - took a little time to eat a cliff bar and hit the porta-potty on my way out of the transition area. Run
Comments: It took about 3 miles of running 5 minutes walking 1 or 2 minutes and so on, until my legs started to feel pretty good. My shins were killing me the first 30 minutes and I finally settled in to a pretty good pattern of running 10 minutes and walking 1. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: I needed a better nutrition plan for during the race. Also, paying more attention to what I was eating the week leading up to the race would have been beneficial. Event comments: The post-race food was lacking - the little "meal" was pretty weak.
