Comments:

swam really well until hit by TrishM and then she turned around to say sorry not realizing it was her training partner that she hits all the time when we share a lane at LTF. I was laughing so hard that I sucked in water and lost about 1 minute of time
What would you do differently?:

nothing. Maybe avoid TrishM, but no, she is my buddy and I like being near her, especially because she usually is so much faster than me.
Transition 1
  • 03m 34s
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Bike
  • 52m 16s
  • 12.43 miles
  • 14.27 mile/hr
Comments:

Lost my water bottle about 6 miles in, with the first drink. No hydration on the ride. Was going to try taking a gel just before transition to see if it would help on the run but no water to wash it down with. Boo Hoo.
What would you do differently?:

Have a second water bottle as back up
Transition 2
  • 01m 44s
Comments:

I had a hard time running with my bike shoes on, on a down hill. No traction. Had to slow down and walk to keep from falling.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe undo the velcro and ride with my feet on top of the shoes coming into the dismount. Then running barefoot into transition. Just a thought, I don't know if I am coordinated enough to pull that off.
Run
  • 39m 40s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 12m 45s  min/mile
Comments:

My legs were lead. I walked a lot but I don't think I could've done any better than I did. I gave it everything I had left.
What would you do differently?:

Not walk, but that would depend on hydration while on the bike and maybe a less hilly course
Post race
Event comments:

Great race. Great volunteers. Got to race again with TrishM, my cavesister and watched her have an awesome race. Lot of support from my husband and daughters so for me this was the greatest race. ...and I didn't drown. Would like to do this again. It was a tough and challenging course. Felt a sense of accomplishment when it was over even if my time wasn't at my goal.
