Swim
Comments: I could have gone out alot harder, as the swim is my strength, but I wanted to ensure I had plenty of strength left for the other events. The 1/4 mile sand run to T1 was unexpected. What would you do differently?: I took the course on the wide side to aviod the crowds. I would probably take a closer line in the next event and shave significant distance and time. Transition 1
Comments: No timing on T1 transitions What would you do differently?: Quicker, but I felt I did alright. Bike
Comments: Loads of room to improve on my next bike performance. What would you do differently?: More bike saddle time in training. Transition 2
Comments: No time for transitions Run
Comments: Run is my weakness. I ran the pace I expected. My left quad cramped mid way through the first lap but I ran through it. I increased my gatoraid intake and that helped out. What would you do differently?: Not much. I could always use more training time, but I did about what I expected to do and am very happy with my performance. Post race
Warm down: Simly walked around and chatted with my wife. She made my day! What limited your ability to perform faster: More training time for the bike and the run. Event comments: Great race for my first Olympic distance. It sets a good baseline to work from. I am very happy to have this race under my belt. Last updated: 2008-07-20 12:00 AM

I ate a Cliff bar, and drank a quart of water to start my morning. When I got to Transition I set up in an overly crowded Clydesdale area.
Nothing special. Pulled on my wetsuit, chatted with some of the other guys, and got into the water.
