Pre-race routine:

Normal bagel and jelly. Got my stuff together and headed out. I went the wrong way, I finally got myself turned around, got really nervous that I was going to be very late, thank god I wasn’t.
Event warmup:

short little swim
Swim
  • 27m 49s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 42s / 100 yards
Comments:

swim went better than i thought considering i haven't been in the pool a lot lately. I didn't sight all that great, but i wasn't bad either. I have improved my swimming straight ability, not by much, but it's better than it was.
Transition 1
  • 01m 44s
Comments:

Average T1 for me. I guess it should have been faster since i didn't wear a wetsuit
Bike
  • 1h 16m 35s
  • 24.8 miles
  • 19.43 mile/hr
Comments:

felt good on the bike. I passed a few people only got passed once. Nothting to exciting going on here. A lot of false flats and some good head winds in some sections.
Transition 2
  • 01m 39s
Comments:

Not sure why i was slow here.
Run
  • 1h 04m 33s
  • 6.2 miles
  • 10m 25s  min/mile
Comments:

here is where the wheels came off. I suck at running coming off the bike. I can't get anything going. This has been a on going issue for me over the years that i have been doing tris. Of course i have some good runs off the bike, but for the most part they aren't that great, and this one was one of the worst i've ever had. I couldn't run any faster, i am not good in the heat and it was very hot that day, but there is no way the heat had everything to do with my poor preformance. Yes i do bricks, granted not a TON of bricks, but i do them and never feel like i have felt on Saturday. Everyone has bad days and i guess this was one of mine. I need to fix this problem or doing longer races isn't going to fun for me anymore.
What would you do differently?:

i think we all know the answer to this question.
Post race
Warm down:

i was so tired after the run, i don't think i ever felt this exhusted after a race. I don't know if the heat anything to do with it, but i was extra exhusted.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

the run!!!!

Event comments:

great race. This was the first time for the Oly and they did a great job.
