Pre-race routine:

Finished the Sprint and quickly walked back to Transition to get ready to do the Olympic. Put on new numbers for the oly on helment, bike, race belt, and put on new timing chip. It was tough to get motived to put the wetsuit back on and head back to the swim start. It was starting to warm up and get windy.

Race Three of the Triple Challenge
Event warmup:

Warmup? How about a sprint an hour before, lol. Ate some pop tarts and had a recovery drink.
Swim
  • 27m 5s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 39s / 100 yards
Comments:

The energy levels started to fade half way through the swim, swam through three prior waves and took a couple of breast stroke kicks to the ribs. Exit the swim and did the painful run into T1. Swim includes run time.
Transition 1
  • 02m 48s
Comments:

Wasn't exactly pushing the pace. Tons of Gear to run through now as we were wave 40 of the race. Lots of equipment on the ground.
Bike
  • 1h 14m 58s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 19.89 mile/hr
Comments:

Very crowded bike course, launched some of bento box on the ride and really was frustered by the large amount of people on the course. I was also losing energy and sat up a few times to collect my thoughts.
What would you do differently?:

Hard to judge my performance everyone else was fresh...my energy leverls were spent.
Transition 2
  • 02m 41s
Comments:

Slow, but includes a potty break. All the post sprint race drinks had built up and I had to peeeeeeeee.
Run
  • 48m 51s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 07m 52s  min/mile
Comments:

The first 5K felt okay but was struggling to turn the legs over, the second half I picked up the pace a bit. It was fun running through hundreds of people. Great motivation.
Post race
Warm down:

FOOOOOOOOD and gator aid.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

A super sprint on Saturday and Sprint on Sunday morning.

Event comments:

I can now say I've done Accenture. First and last time for me. The Triple Challenge was fun but very taxing on the body. So tired when I was done and the bike ride home really sucked. The Triple Challenge rack forms a mini bond as you see eachother so much during the weekend.

Wish my results were a little better. Tonight I'll did through the results and see how the other triple's did on the oly. I did pace a guy right before the finish. I think I hit my goal of top 10 though. We'll see.
