What limited your ability to perform faster:

I was still not in race shape, and long day in the sun on saturday didn't help.

Event comments:

This was just a training race for me as I start to get back in shape, but I was still very disappointed with my time. I need to get back in shape, as this should have been an easy race to get a PR.

Course: Serpentine through a wave pool with beach entry. We had to run and dolphin dive through the first hlf, then swim around a buoy and come back and dolphin dive and run out around a cone. Very weird format, but I ended up with a good time.
