Comments: Didn't draft as well as last year and that's prob why I was a tad slower. I want to test if wearing a tri top costs any time. Transition 1
Comments: AHR: 156 MHR: 163 Forgot rubber bands so put shoes on in T1. What would you do differently?: Remember rubber hands. Bike
Comments: Nutrition: ~200 cal HEED 1 gel near end of bike (90cal) Pushed it pretty hard throughout for the most part. Avg speed was high 23s at 30' in, but that was net downhill to that point. I know the course well so my basic approach was to push hard up until the last 30-60" before a climb..i would cut it back for a bit before tyring to push the hills. What would you do differently?: Nothing really. Transition 2

Comments: Tried to settle into a solid pace for first two miles. Got lax in mile2 a bit...also had a ~5s stop in mile 2 to adjust/tighten right shoe lace. Did a solid job of attaching the hills on the course...just kept telling myself to "get mean" and attack the hills before they attacked me. Went sockless and paid this time...I cut open both achilles...as I forgot to bodyglide that part of the shoe. back of sneakers were all read in blood by the time I finished. Overall a solid effort. I still think mile markers were off again this year....first they had a mile marker 7...wtf? they advertise the race as 11km or ~6.8mi. What would you do differently?: Focus a bit more..esp mile 2 and the last ~2miles. Post race
Event comments: Outside of the weird mile markings on the run, I love this race. Last updated: 2008-08-01 12:00 AM
