Swim
Comments: The lane was pretty narrow so there was plenty of kicking and whacking each other until we got around the buoy. I got a bit of a rhythm going in the last quarter when we all started to spread out. Transition 1
Comments: I was racing with trainers, so I didn't have to worry about getting the shoes on and all that. Bike
Comments: I was using a friend's mountain bike and the chain fell off in the first minute. That's all I'm going to say. What would you do differently?: Get a road bike. Transition 2
Comments: I was simply elated to be off of the bike and running. Run
Comments: I had pretty much given up in the biking section so I really gunned it here. I was a bit sore but got a really good pace and finished strongly. Post race
Warm down: Stretched and tried to get some of the muck off in the makeshift shower that was set up next to the transition area. What limited your ability to perform faster: Riding the mountain bike took a toll on me mentally. Event comments: My first tri in the US - I expected that it would be a really competitive, unfriendly atmosphere, but most of the entrants I talked to were really cool and supportive. Looking forward to more races this summer. Last updated: 2008-08-02 12:00 AM
